We found this gem while on our way back home from South Padre Island and to say that this is the BEST mexican food ive ever had is an understatement. You absolutely MUST try one of their tacos, their tortillas are fresh made in house and they are MASSIVE. You only need 2 tacos to be full but why would you want to do that when the prices are so reasonable here for the portions. If you want authentic Mexican please dont hesitate to stop here, I will definitely be back whenever I visit South Padre Island again.
The Heart & Soul of Los Fresnos This is where my grandfather would go every morning to have his breakfast It was a pleasure working there as a teen Great food Friendly people
Good Service and really good food. Great prices. Will come again
Food is delicious and this family owned business is awesome.
If you're in the mood for a good home cooked meal whether its breakfast or lunch this is the place to go if you're in los fresnos
This is a small gem hidden in Los Fresnos. My wife and I stopped here literally almost on accident....but we decided to step in and try the food. When you step in, you literally feel the mom and pop vibe...the mother cooking in the back while her kids are the one taking orders. The building does feel a little old...so it has a hole in the wall atmosphere. I ordered carne guisada and my wife had enchiladas. My wife loved her enchiladas... didn't want to share. The carne guisada was good...it had the right amount of sauce but I was expecting deeper flavor...maybe it needed a little more salt. The star of the dish were their flour tortillas...made fresh...and about a foot wide. All you need is one and you will be content! This place is also really budget friendly... My wife and I are definitely stopping by again when we pass by Los Fresnos.
What a great local place! The chorizo and eggs and fresh made flour tortillas, excellent!!! Let me mention the homemade salsa, not for the weak, but darn it was delicious! I highly Recommend stopping by anytime passing thru!
Had a late breakfast there, so the place was practically empty and I was able to talk to the fantastic owner. The service was very good. My taste in Mexican food is more New Mexico and El Paso than South Texas, so I just tried a big taco, I think with beef and eggs. I just can't remember the ingredients for sure. The large flour tortilla was pretty tough and the meat was chewy, so that kind of messed up the whole meal. I will try them again and order something different.
